SC has ruled that voters whose names are cleared by the Tribunal will be allowed to vote. For Phase 1 the clearance date is April 21 and for Phase 2, the clearance date 27th April. A big relief to the deleted voters of West Bengal and the TMC govt.

#WATCH | Bhubaneswar, Odisha: On SIR, Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, S Gopalan says, "Odisha is now affected by serious floods, with 19 districts affected so far. The entire government machinery is engaged in flood relief and rehabilitation work…the timeline has been shifted by 15 days: the Election Commission has ordered that the last date for claims and objections be shifted from August 4 to August 19, and the date of final publication has been shifted from September 6 to September 21…BLOs have been instructed to collect forms from eligible voters, and side by side, we are disposing of the claims and objections…we have issued notices to 12 lakh voters whose names were found in the 2025 roll but could not be mapped with the 2002 roll. Another 46 lakh voters have logical anomalies in their details…they will not be deleted; only the entries will be corrected. 27 lakh have been found ineligible to vote from Bengal’s adjudication list. They have all been asked to go to appellate tribunals. But the electoral rolls for Phase 1 ( April 23) have now already closed. So if the tribunal establishes that a deleted voter is in fact bonafide and he or she is a voter in Phase 1, how will they get back on the electoral rolls?
