Mark’s situation during his departure: It was really complicated, but I decided I wasn’t going to look at the reactions right away, and I actually thought, “Yeah, I shouldn’t check Instagram or anything,” and posted it. I don’t think I even went home. My mom was honestly really scared too. But it’s not like I’m just retiring like this, and there were probably rumors like, “Oh, is he retiring?” “So he’s going to busk?” “He’s going to go diving?” People were saying things like that, and I realized, “Ah, they must have been worrying like that too.” That’s when I learned more about the fans’ perspective. But I’m not retiring, and the fans don’t know that, so from their point of view it’s like, “He’s really just becoming an ordinary person.” In that situation, I became really sure that I needed to comeback with music first. The music just needs to come out first.
