this also killed me and my friends (it was 3am and we were drinking)

POV when you've been weighed, measured, and found wanting

It's so good. When I reviewed it people would be worried about me breaking it apart because of historical inaccuracies, but well, things went in another direction :)

You couldn’t make this now a days because there’s no one in Hollywood left who would recognize how fucking funny it is for queen to be belting out of a trumpet.

Should anyone ever ask me "Who's your favourite hype man?", this film allows me to say "Geoffrey Chaucer".

Me when The Youths are discovering the insane hotness of Shannon Sossamon

A case of historical authenticity vs historical accuracy! I talk about it in one of my videos, capturing the human side of history and relating it to modern audiences can often yield a better film or show than one trying to be more "accurate".

The thing about Kingdom of Heaven is that if you didn’t watch the nearly three hour director cut, you haven’t really seen Kingdom of Heaven. Both are excellent movies; one is fun, the other is not.

A Knight's Tale gets the feel right even when the details are wrong. Tournaments were overwhelming and alive. Kingdom of Heaven is too busy being solemn to catch that.

Maturing is realising that, despite KOH being a great movie (esp. the Directors cut), it is very anti-Christian/pro-Islam and adds to the modern view of the Europe/West being the main antagonists.

I absolutely recommend listening to the directors commentary for both movies, but especially A Knight's Tale.

One of the best scripts in the history of cinema. Almost Shakespearean.

It’s such an extraordinary expectation-setting scene. Barely any dialogue, no sight of the main cast, and yet you know *exactly* what kind of romping good time you’re about to have.

does the entire film has this vibe or just this scene?

I love this movie so much

The trumpeters putting their horns down as the guitar solo ends is absolute perfection

im enjoying the number of background extras who are hopelessly out of time with the clapping and look like they might legimately be pissed

I maaaaay have named my child William partly because this movie.....

Very nice and fun movie. I remember when I was teen I thought they needed more peasants revolts.

Fucking love this movie.

the reunion with the father...

Top tier film 👌

You're so right I need to watch Knight's Tale again

Whole movie goes hard

Full of anachronisms and yet enough historical detail that you know every anachronism was a choice rather than an oversight. My favorite bit is them including that Kate is a widow, as widows were allowed to practice their husbands' trades until they remarried.
It was a brilliant and fun movie, nice for any Sunday afternoon or evening

Kingdom of Heaven is a political movie, a reprisal to the Irak War and the barbarity of the West unleashing irrational violence on the East. Radical Christians being the antagonists makes It obvious. It's a good film, but It serves primarily the message it's trying to convey.

And historically accurate. Probably.

"ridiculous" - yep, I would also use this word in relation to this movie, but only by itself. (don't hate it, don't like it)

What the hell lol

To create the exploding lances, they used dried pasta. Pasta had not been invented yet because tomatoes are a New World food. Verdict: FALSE.

Great movie. Loads of fun and the cast seem to be having a smashing time.

I love Alan Tudyk in that movie.

Spotted an impostor!
