However minutes before she was supposed to go on stage, she was escorted back by a police officer because the school staff won’t let her wear her Lei. The family is from Hawaii and they feel it’s a part of to wit culture and don’t see why a ring of flowers could be offensive. If other people are allowed to wear things that represent their own culture or religion, shouldn’t this be allowed as well? If this was your daughter and they told her she couldn’t walk because of her flowers, would you make her take it off?

this entire sequence is one of the most chilling moments in nikke but also one of my favorites. you can genuinely hear the pain and anger in dorothy's voice, and when rapi said that they could kill doban "together" - she shuts down and gets confused. i don't know if it was because she was shocked that rapi would agree to killing doban, or because rapi was giving her the chance to actually kill him, causing her to freeze up because she couldn't do it. at every moment she's given to kill him, she was strong and didn't do it. i think rapi knew this which is why she even suggested the idea of helping her kill doban.
