E20 fuel began to be supplied fully from October–November 2025, and from 1 April 2026 the government made it mandatory for private players and all oil companies to sell only E20. Since the notification, some people have raised psychological concerns, often posting on social media without evidence. At our own petrol pumps, none of the customers’ vehicles has shown any problems with E20. Those posting online also have no proof that E20 damages engines. Yes, three institutions produced reports on the long-term effects of E20, suggesting that older vehicles might experience problems, particularly on rubber parts. #WATCH | Delhi: On ethanol, Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President (Corporate Affairs and Governance) of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, says, "...I think there is a lot of misunderstanding about the fuel. For example, if you look at it from the automotive sector, there is a lot of myth that if you use E20 blended fuel, vehicles will get damaged. It's a myth. It doesn't happen this way. There's a lot of myth about the amount of mileage loss or the fuel efficiency loss. Yes, there is some fuel efficiency loss, no doubt. But it is not so big as it is being made out to be...E85 and E100, that is, 85% ethanol and 100 % ethanol, are not meant for regular cars. It is meant for a different type of technology, which is called a flex fuel vehicle. This vehicle can take any mix of ethanol. So people need not worry. E20 is the standard fuel that will be available, and it is compatible with old vehicles and new vehicles. All vehicles sold after 1st of April 2023 are fully materially compliant with E20. And people need to be reassured that in 2021, before we went into E20, there was a very detailed scientific study done by the leading automobile testing agency in the country, which is ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). It clearly established that the possible damage to cars and two wheelers which are old is not there. It's very insignificant. On ethanol, he says, "As per the latest statistics from the government, the program so far has helped save 1.9 trillion rupees. Out of that, 1,60,000 crores has gone to farmers. Tehseen Poonawalla is absolutely right & must be supported by everyone univocally on this issue. If you don’t support him, you risk your valuable vehicles which are at risk now. The forced E20 ethanol blending policy has become a textbook case of conflict of interest, lack of transparency, and disregard for the common citizen. How people of India are being treated as Guinea pigs for trials and how their only precious asset a 2,3 or 4 wheeler is risked is appalling, brazen and shames less and that to benefit Mr Gadkari’s son 😡 While Union Minister Nitin Gadkari aggressively pushes mandatory E20 — claiming it helps farmers and cuts imports — his own sons reportedly have direct business interests in ethanol distilleries that have seen massive revenue surges. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri defends it by comparing our daily drivers to racing cars and downplays mileage drops, engine wear, and the complete absence of consumer choice. This is unacceptable. Citizens have every right to choose between E20 and regular petrol. So many people—myself included—are drawn to the climate movement because they want to help people. They care, want to help the poor, and save the planet. But what they don't understand is that the climate movement is doing the exact opposite of what these well-meaning activists want to accomplish. The movement vilifies reliable energy—the single biggest driver of getting people out of poverty. Over the past several decades, we’ve spent trillions on an energy transition away from fossil fuels. The result? We’ve made our energy system less reliable and more expensive. Western countries have also practiced climate colonialism by preventing Africa from developing with natural gas, coal, and oil. (This goes against everything climate activists claim to stand for!) This is the most morally inverted movement ever. Right now, a billion people don't have access to reliable energy. That means women are spending their entire day figuring out how to get fuel to cook their food. Children in these settings are not going to school, they’re spending hours collecting wood or walking to get water. All of that is a symptom of energy poverty. This is when climate activists will say “but the planet is burning!” Just no. The planet is not burning. Yes, we've added CO2 to the atmosphere and seen about ~1°C of warming over 150 years. But 95% of CO2 is naturally occurring and historically, warming periods are when humans flourish. The Medieval Warm Period (900–1300 AD) is a great example. It was 0.7-1°C warmer and populations boomed. They then collapsed during the Little Ice Age. Takeaway the climate hysteria and objectively you would choose to live during a warming period over a cooling period. Redraw county boundaries back to 7 provinces and an autonomous Nairobi, cut members of parliament to 47 and Senators to 16, 7 governors and then multiply the number of Ward Councilors (MCAs) by a factor of one hundred and give them the power and the resources to serve their constituents and solve their unique challenges mashinani. No more budgets for MPs- their job is to legislate and not to distribute pork barrels. The power to impeach a president THAT IS ALREADY IN THE CURRENT BROKEN CONSTITUTION, which has a 24-month provision stays in the new constitution. Ward councilors to hold the checks and balance powers over their province and the power to initiate a recall process on their respective governor/PC. Western themed democracy is not meant for Africa, Asia or Middle East. The countries that have rejected those foreign concepts are the ones that are leading in accelerated economic growth and social and security stability -no senseless national election cycles.
