That’s why when your having a picnic, first one bee appears and the others arrive after. The first bee goes back to the hive and through a series of movements it communicates the location to the other bees.

Unfortunately, they are often viewed as pests, although they are native pollinators, better at pollinating native plants compared to other bee species. So next time when you find a nest of ground bees, don’t try to get rid of them – they may be helping you more than hurting you.
