Shorting now is high risk / with capped reward. They’ll pull out the bazooka if they need to via Fed QE and YCC. Better play is long gold or if you must short long term bonds then at least hedge it with a gold position.

The test isn’t whether bonds went down. It is how would they have performed had Bessent said nothing. You assume his comments sent them down. Dangerous assumption. Yields have been artificially suppressed for 20 years. It should be no surprise that we are hitting 20 year high yields.

What is Scott Bessent's hedge fund track record? Its main fund returned 13% in 2016 but declined or broke even every year from 2017 to 2021 before making major gains in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The inconsistent track record scared away clients. :))
