I don’t agree with him a lot, but Ewen Cameron is spot on here. Willie Collum as Head of Referees can’t continue - any other line of work he’d of been sacked. The referees aren’t good enough. There are inconsistencies every single week with offsides, handballs, penalties… it’s a shambles. This isn’t even a Rangers / Celtic issue for me, it’s Scottish football in general. Week after week the same bizarre decisions and mistakes, with the same cast of referees then rolled out the week after.

And what happens over time, though, is government keeps growing and at a certain point, you have more referees than players on the field. And then, the game is not good. I'm not saying you don't need referees, but you don't want the referees to outnumber the players. So, just make sure that fair games are being played, that there are sensible rules and don't get in the way of the players. And the results will be excellent." This was the BBC News at Six last night. The English NHS is under huge pressure, partly because of a flu outbreak. Conditions in the hospital featured are atrocious. The thing you'll notice is there's no politics. No UK Govt minister is confronted. The Scottish NHS has thus far escaped the flu outbreak. That may change. However, even now we are being conditioned by BBC Scotland to believe that things are as bad or worse in Scotland. For two nights running on Reporting Scotland a Scottish Govt minister has been challenged in an item about the NHS. A narrative is being cultivated that the Scottish NHS is about to collapse. That Scottish hospitals and wards are unsafe compared to those south of the border. That things are uniquely bad in the Scottish NHS. This is completely untrue. There will be challenges. Ambulances will be diverted from area to area depending on those challenges. Patients will be advised not to attend A&E in their area unless absolutely necessary. The reason will be winter. It gets colder at this time of year. Colder still the further north you get. People slip or catch a virus. The vulnerable succumb. Pressures increase. Politics should be left out of it.
