The average American pays about 14.5% in federal income taxes. The richest 400 billionaires are paying half that. I think that’s fundamentally unfair, and billionaires do this by using loopholes in order to lower their taxable income. Billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos can buy yachts and private jets, claim that they’re business expenses, and use it to lower their taxes. I think we should close these loopholes — and we should ensure that next time tax day rolls around, the average Texan is paying less than a billionaire.

California is looking to implement a wealth tax on billionaires. On their after-tax & pre-tax holdings based on net worth. Which is by far, the absolute dumbest thing you can do. Especially given the fact that many billionaires, don’t have liquidity to pay for that tax burden. Many tech billionaires, early on, reach that status on a paper basis. Based on funding rounds and the valuation used. Those shares, generally get locked in. Meaning they don’t have the money to pay for the damn tax. This type of tax will create a massive outflow of investments. It will lead to an economic, entrepreneurial & investment decline. It’s utter madness. Canada, is very similar to California. The laws, regulations, & socialist approach to problems. We can never allow this to happen in our country. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.
