WATCH: Very newsy exchange at the White House Tuesday afternoon between President Trump and CBS’s Ed O'Keefe about Iran, revealing the U.S. was gifted “a present” from whatever remains of the new/old Iranian regime that is “oil and gas related”.... President Trump: “Do you have another question? You haven’t been here in a while.” O’Keefe: “Well, on Iran, can you give us any more sense of who exactly in Iran it is, either Witkoff or Kushner you’re speaking with?” Trump: “Yeah. We had — I hate to say this in front of these young people — they’re not children. I spoke to most of them. They sound like adults to me. Even though they are sort of children, right? They’ll always be your children. But I hate to say it, but we killed all their leadership. And then they met to choose new leaders, and we killed all of them. And now, we have a new group and we can easily do that. But let’s see how they turn out. It’s — we have, really, regime change. You know, this is a change in the regime because the leaders are all very different than the ones that we started off with that created all those problems. So this was — I think we can say, Jason, this is regime change, right?” O’Keefe: “What makes you trust them?” Trump: “I don’t trust anybody. I don’t trust you. I mean, that’s only because I know you, but if I didn’t know you, I’d probably have more trust. But I don’t trust anyone.” O’Keefe: “Why bother talking to them?” Trump: “Why do you — why do you say that? Why do you say what makes you — do you think I trust them? I don’t trust them.” O’Keefe: “Then why bother talking to them?” Trump: “Because they’re going to make a deal. They’re going to make a deal. They did something yesterday that was amazing. Actually. They gave us a present. And the president arrived today and it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. And I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize. And they gave it to us, and they said they were going to give it, so that meant one thing to me. We’re dealing with the right people —” O’Keefe: “Was it nuclear related.” Trump: “No, it wasn’t nuclear related. It was oil and gas related. And it was a very nice thing they did. But what it showed me is that we’re dealing with the right people because, you know, you don’t know because the leadership was killed, all gone. Khamenei, all gone. As the expression goes, the past Supreme Leader and then the new Supreme Leader was racked up at a minimum, racked up pretty good, and everyone else was gone. And then many of the people in the third tier are gone. But we’re dealing with a group of people that I think turn out and the — the present, the gift they made to us was very significant. And they said they were going to do it and it happened. And they’re the only ones that could have done it.”

When Abby Phillip questioned President Trump’s deal with Iran, Scott Jennings unloaded three key points on the CNN panel about the memorandum — including what President Trump told him directly on Sunday. JENNINGS: “Well, we’re talking to them because we want this conflict to end and we want to get to an ultimate goal where Iran doesn’t have any or the capacity to make any nuclear weapons.” “That is the principal goal. That’s number one.” “Number two, it would be wise for the administration to put this document out for everybody to look at, and they ought to do it as soon as they can, both for their allies who are interested, but also for the American people, because we’ve gone to war here.” “The American people deserve to know how this is going to come to an end.” “Number three, I talked to the president on Sunday, and he was, you know, telling me he was about to sign something with Iran, and he did.” “And he was excited to get the Strait of Hormuz open.” “But he said something very important to me, which is, look, if they don’t follow through on their commitments, we will start hitting them again.” “He’s clearly not taken further military action off the table.” “So we have some miles to travel down this road. The next mile will be on Friday when there’s a formal signing for the people who don’t trust Iran.” “Look, I agree with you. I think an Iranian signature is worth very, very little. But it could be worth something if the president keeps this Middle Eastern coalition together.”

Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich: “Given how the Iranians have been behaving, do you have any regrets about lifting the naval blockade or giving the sanctions waivers?” President Trump: “N, no. I gave them a chance. I wanted to give them a chance at making a deal. You know, we had a deal two days ago. It was done, and then all of a sudden they couldn’t do it. They didn’t like something about the deal, they couldn’t do it, and they shot first, and that was a big mistake that they shot first, because we have been knocking the hell out of them. They’re very difficult people. 47 years we put up with it the USS Cole, you go back all the way. Thousands of people, thousands of Americans were killed. A lot of soldiers were killed. A lot of soldiers are walking around or not walking around. I mean, they’ve been so badly injured. The arms, the legs, the face with the Soleimani, with the bomb. A — they call it the roadside bomb. Most people call it the roadside bomb. It’s a disaster, and I killed him in my first administration. Had I not, it might be a different story today. He was a mad genius. He was a mad — probably a mad man. But he was a general and he had total control over the country, and I actually think the leaders of Iran were afraid of Soleimani. But I killed him. And by the way, with him went a very bad person, also. They happened to be meeting each other at the airport, and a very bad person from Iraq — happened to be a leader of Iraq — happened to be killed in that same incident. So, I don’t know if I did you a favor or not. I’ve never asked you that question. You probably would know better than me. But no, I think — I think that — I think that what we’ve done to Iran is we’ve taken away all of them, almost all of their military capability.”

ABC’s Mary Bruce: “On the rising oil and gas prices, the President has said that this is a small price to pay for getting rid of a nuclear weapon. But ten weeks in, are we any closer to getting rid of Iran’s nuclear material?” Secretary Marco Rubio: “Yeah, but look, here’s the way to think about Iran. And this is what I described at the very beginning of this. What was Iran’s plan? You have to understand what their plan was. Their plan was they were going to build this conventional shield where they would have so many thousands of missiles and drones and rockets that they couldn’t be attacked. And behind that conventional shield that they were trying to build, they would then break out and do whatever they wanted with their nuclear program. They no longer have that conventional shield, okay? We told you guys from the very beginning, and we’re very consistent in this messaging. The operation that has concluded was going to destroy their navy. They have no navy left. They don’t. Not a navy. They have small boats and Boston Whalers, but they don’t have a navy left. They don’t have an air force. I challenge you. When is the last time you read or heard about an Iranian jet flying anywhere? They don’t have an air force. Their missile launching capability has been substantially degraded. And their industrial base — their defense industrial base has been severely, severely damaged. So, their ability to build a shield behind which they could hide their nuclear program was wiped out. That’s a very substantial achievement. And that was the purpose of this operation from day one.” Bruce: “But do you HAVE to get their nuclear material in order for this war to end?” Rubio: “Well, that’s one of the topics that needs to be discussed. I don’t know about. I think you’re linking it — the operation is over. Epic Fury is — President notified Congress we’re done with that stage of it. Okay. We’re now on to this project of freedom. As far as the negotiation is concerned, I think the President’s been clear that part of the negotiation process has to be not just the enrichment, but what happens to this material that’s buried deep somewhere that they have still have access to if they ever wanted to dig it out, that has to be addressed. And that’s being addressed in the negotiation. I’m not going to go further on what progress has been made on that topic, because I don’t want to endanger the negotiations, but suffice it to say that the President and this entire team is aware of the centrality of that question, and that will have to be addressed one way or the other.”

🚨 JUST IN: JD Vance OBLITERATES Jessica Tarlov claiming President Trump is giving stuff away to Iran "Jessica, you're making the SAME MISTAKE, unfortunately, that a lot of the Iranian propagandists make." "They talk about the benefits to the Iranians without ANY of the things Iran has to give up." "You mentioned $300B...not a single cent of American money under any circumstance, no matter what the Iranians do, goes to Iran, not a single cent of American money!" "This says, for example, let's say that the United Arab Emirates, who have been a great ally, let's say they want to invest in a power plant in Iran, what this deal provides is that if the Iranians have done everything we require them to do, then we will allow the United Arab Emirates to do that." "Because they can't do that right now without American approval. So we're fundamentally saying if the Iranians transform how they interact with the world, we will transform how the world economy interacts with Iran!" "But if they don't do any of that stuff, they don't get any of these benefits. So I think all the Democrats who are saying, well, the Iranians get all these things, they don't get anything unless there's been a complete transformation of how Iran interacts with the world, that would be a huge win for America!" "If they don't do any of these things, we don't give them anything. They don't receive anything. Their nuclear program is still destroyed. Their military is still destroyed. Their missile program and industrial base is still destroyed. We fundamentally have transformed the Middle East. Whether they comply or not, this is just icing on the cake, assuming they do all the right things."

.Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese: “Your Director of National Counterterrorism, Joe Kent — he just resigned today. He said he can’t support your conflict with Iran. What’s your reaction to that? And did you —” President Trump: “Well, I read his statement. I always thought it was a nice guy, but I always thought he was weak on security, very weak on security. I didn’t know him well, but I thought he seemed like a pretty nice guy, but when I read a statement, I realized that it’s a good thing that he’s out because he said that Iran was not a threat. Iran was a threat — every country realized what a threat Iran was. The question is whether or not they wanted to do something about it. And many people, many of the greatest military scholars are saying for years that presidents should have taken out Iran because they wanted a nuclear weapon. They were — if we didn’t do the attack or if I’ll go a step further, if I didn’t terminate the Iran nuclear deal given to us, one of the worst deals ever made by Barack Hussein Obama. Remember when they sent Boeing 757 over there loaded with cash, hundreds of millions of dollars? You would have been very happy. This was a wonderful — they sent hundreds of million — people forget that. Does anybody remember, right? You remember! Hundreds of millions of dollars in a Boeing 757. I think they had two of them loaded. They took the seats out and they put cash. And it was so much that there wasn’t a bank in Virginia, Maryland, or DC that had any money left. They stripped them of all their money, put it into planes, sent it to Iran almost as ransom. That’s not going to happen with Trump. And nobody ever did anything about it. Nobody ever said anything. Can you imagine if I did that? So, they’ve been a threat for a long time, but they’ve really been a threat. If — if I didn’t terminate Obama’s horrible deal that he made, the Iran nuclear deal, you would have had a nuclear war four years ago. You would have had — you would have had nuclear holocaust, and you would have had it again if we didn’t bomb the site. So, when somebody is working with us that says they didn’t think Iran was a threat, we don’t want those people because — and there are some people, I guess, that would say that, but they’re not smart people or they’re not savvy people. Iran was a tremendous threat. And virtually every NATO nation — and this is the thing, if they told me it wasn’t a threat and therefore they don’t want to help, but when they say it was a threat and it was a major threat — every one of them — I think every one of them — I don’t know of one that said they’re not a threat, but when they say it was a threat, but we’re not going to help, I think they’re very foolish. You know, it’s interesting. It’s interesting because I could say this, that what’s happening in Ukraine, we’re probably in there for $400 billion. We don’t spend any money anymore. They buy it from us and they pay full price. But Biden gave them between 350 and $400 billion of equipment and cash. Someday, they’ll have to find out about the cash, and you could say that wasn’t a threat. You know, we’re helping them, so we helped them and they didn’t help us. And I think that’s a very bad thing for NATO.”
