Scottie Scheffler spoke ahead of the Cadillac Championship about what it would mean if he were to complete the Career Grand Slam at the US Open in a few weeks: “Yeah, I would love to be able to win the US Open. It's a tournament that I love. I love my country, I would love to be able to win my National Open. And I've had some success at that tournament before and I think it suits my style of game. 23 year old David Puig is having another great season, finishing inside the points in every event on the LIV Golf League to be 10th on the Standings and finishing T11 or better in all 3 DP World Tour starts. He’s been a model of consistency but is without a win and he says it’s something he’s looking forward to the challenge of trying to overcome: “I’ve been having a really good season and playing very consistent. I think I’ve been doing well in every part of the game if you look at my strokes gained. Lots of birdies, some eagles, but too many mistakes to be winning events and it’s something I’m really looking forward to, the challenge of minimising the mistakes and trying to get it done this year. “There’s times where I’ve made the right decision, it was just poorly executed and a few unlucky breaks here and there that stopped me from winning. But I’m looking forward to the challenge and really happy with how I’ve been playing.” David is an electric player to watch who is not scared to take on tough shots and can get hot at any time running off strings of birdies. His speed is his biggest asset but it’s something he says he needs to learn how to utilise: “I might be a little different than the average player. I hit the ball pretty far and that makes it a bit more challenging when I’m out of position in the rough. We’ve caught a couple of fliers where the ball reacts different than expected out of the different lies and that makes it more challenging. But I’ve just got to learn from those mistakes and keep getting better. “My game is getting into good shape. I’m positive with the way I’ve been working on and off the course to get to that point that I can get the win. I’m excited for it and I’m learning. I just need to keep the mistakes off the card.” David is playing this week at LIV Golf UK by JCB and it’s a course which he says he enjoys. He also played well here last season coming T11. Hopefully he can continue his great form this season and contend again this weekend at the JCB Golf and Country Club.

Bryson DeChambeau’s next event after LIV Golf Andalucia is the US Open, where he’ll attempt to win his 3rd gold medal. He spoke to Flushing It Golf at Valderrama about his preparation ahead of Shinnecock Hills and whether he feels any pressure after missing the last 2 cuts in majors: “Well, Valderrama is a ball striker's golf course. So you have to control your golf ball and hit the right shots under the gun with a lot of wind out here. It really is a great ball strikers paradise. The same as, you know, in the US Open. I think this is a great test.” Bryson shot rounds of 70, 71, 71 and 70 to finish T11 at Valderrama. Does he feel any pressure to perform after missing the cut at the Masters and the PGA Championship? “No. To be honest, missed cuts are gonna happen. I might miss all 4 of them in majors this year. That's just golf. Like, I’m playing great. I just haven't shown up when it mattered most. But I've played well out here on LIV, and I’m working on my golf swing really hard, and, I feel like it's in a really solid place. It's very close to some of my best golf ever. “Last week (in Korea) I had a great opportunity to win for the third time this year and didn't close the door. And that's just more learning, you know, if I had a little bit more knowledge of what to do in the golf swing, to get the ball to go straight in a few scenarios. I could have taken that championship down too. “So, I feel like I'm actually playing the most consistent I've ever played on LIV, which is great. And I think it's attributed to the switch to four rounds. Get to know - Kristoffer Reitan -- solo leader Truist Championship Born in 1998 in Oslo, Norway Introduced to the game by his father. His individual amateur titles include: Valderrama Boys Invitational Italian International U16 Championship Skania Junior Open Junior Orange Bowl Championship He grew up representing Norway and was frequently on the same national teams as Viktor Hovland. They won the 2014 Toyota Junior World Cup, a year after they finished runner-up at the European Boys Team Championship Reitan reached quarterfinals of the 2015 US Junior Amateur where Hovland was his caddie. He represented Team Europe at the 2016 Junior Ryder Cup and was one of only three visiting players to claim victory in the singles session. While still being an amateur, Reitan became the first Norwegian to qualify for the U.S. Open in 2018. And with that, the US Open dream is over 😞 Just wrapped up U.S. Open local qualifying at Medford Village Country Club Didn’t quite have my best stuff off the tee today—and on a course this tight, that’s a problem. When I did find fairways, I couldn’t get it close enough to give myself real chances. Greens were absolutely rapid if you were out of position… borderline terrifying at times 😅 but I did hole some really good putts to grind out pars and keep the round alive. Only one birdie all day though, and that’s never going to get it done at this level. Finished +3 (75) — currently 37th out of 120 (top third of the field), so there are still some positives to take. Battled well, stayed patient, and didn’t let it completely get away from me—which is something I’m trying to get better at in these events. One qualifier down, one more to go in June for The Open Championship. Plenty of work to do before then—tighten up the driver, sharpen the wedges, and turn a few of those pars into birdies. Another opportunity coming… and I’ll be ready to give it a proper run 👊 Thanks as always to Shot Scope for the wonderful stats!!

I have had the privilege of knowing sir_wicknell. for over 20 years and traveling around the world with him. Along the way, I have witnessed firsthand his relentless work ethic, vision, and determination to succeed.
