The World No. 1 wasn't too pleased following his opening-round 69.

Hot take maybe but if you can mark and clean your ball on the green, arguable the purest place on an entire golf course, then I think its easy to admit you should be able to mark and clean your ball in the fairway. Not only is it more fair, but rewards accuracy.

What a bunch of bitches. I've never seen so many cry babies. Supposed to be the best in the world and can't handle a little mud.

A gazillionaire golfer whining about a rule that might potentially cost him a chance at making another gazillion dollars?? Say it ain’t so. Parts of the game are unfair and supposed to be hard. Good breaks and bad breaks every round. Cry more.

Not nearly enough has been made over the fact that Scottie Scheffler got WAY more upset at the 2025 PGA Championship over having a “mud ball” cost him 2 shots, than he did at the 2024 PGA Championship when he was arrested, handcuffed, & put in a jail cell for doing zero wrong! 😂

The dirt is part of the purity of golf. If he doesn’t wish to interact with the three-dimensional natural world, perhaps he should hit balls in an indoor simulator.

See Lanny Watkins statement. Hit is lower so it skids when it lands to overcome the conditions.

If you think that being the best at how to control a golf ball is what golf is, then you don't understand golf. Golf is about dealing with what happens as best you can.

Valid point Scottie.

His full answer is complete and exactly how every other golfer would feel in the same situation.

Hearing golfers cry makes me not wanna watch
