This is fascinating… I was not aware that dolphins and sea lions are US Naval “contractors” and help eliminate marine threats. “In the summer of 2016 I was scuba diving alone in the Puget Sound of Washington state. 60 feet underwater, in the middle of the night, my visibility was zero. I was on a mission. I needed to reach my destination. But before I could complete it, something massive came out of the darkness and struck me in the face. This is a true story of my time as a defense contractor for the united states navy. (Note: I misspoke on this story. I was dropped off a couple hundred meters out, not half a mile.)”
