I think he is a royal mail worker. It looks like to me he is doing a bit of courier work on the side. Picking bits up and delivering it all over the city is very risky. But pull over a royal mail van and even if they rip the cargo apart the postman just delivers. The parcels come from all over the world. So I think yes he's a postman but he's doing bits.
