U.S. forces have begun withdrawing from the Qasrak military base, the largest U.S. base in Syria, Syria TV reports. This is the second convoy of U.S. forces evacuating the base in Syria's northeastern Hasakah governorate, to be redeployed in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. In recent weeks, U.S. forces have evacuated their bases in al-Shaddadi, Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, and al-Tanf as part of a plan to leave Syria militarily, according to the agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). U.S. forces are still present at one base, "Kharab al-Jir" near the town of Rmeilan, in the southern countryside of Hasakah.

AANES - Rojava (Syria) The SDF has carried out a raid against a wanted ISIS Emir and leadership figure called Muhammed Al Bakhit (aka Abu Hamid) in Deirezzor (presumably Al Shuhail) He was arrested. Al Bakhit was active in Deirezzor, Azaaz, Idlib and other regions - after the fall of the Caliphate he returned to Deirezzor living and operating in Regime held Deirezzor and crossed back from regime held Deirezzor into SDF-held Deirezzor (Al Shuhail) with the help of Ibrahim Al Hafl (!!!!) - he was in charge of ISIS cell activities and recruitment of militants. He was captured and arrested shortly after he crossed back into SDF held Al Shuhail area. The operation was carried out with a special operation unit of the YPJ and special operations forces of the SDF - The coalition (US forces) were part of the operation as support - judging from my data of clashes in/around Al Shuhail, the operation must have been conducted 4 days ago on the 26th of June.

Syrian forces have released dozens of children from the SDF run al-Aqtan prison in Raqqa after taking control of the facility, with footage showing malnourished boys running out of the gates and sprinting towards freedom. The children described being starved, placed in solitary confinement, doused with water, whipped and electrocuted, with one 15 year old sentenced to seven years in prison and a 9 year old also seen in the footage. The SDF was previously known as the YPG, which rebranded as the Syrian Democratic Forces under a US strategy amid scrutiny over its conduct and links to terrorism. The controversial group is widely regarded as the Syrian arm of the PKK, a group designated as terrorists by the US, UK, EU and Turkey. It consists predominantly of Kurdish and Armenian fighters, and has long been aligned with US and Israeli interests in Syria, including controlling oil rich regions in the country’s northeast. The US has now largely ended its backing of the SDF as its role in Syria is said to have “largely expired” and Washington shifts support toward Damascus under a new ceasefire and integration framework with the Syrian government.
