Before silicone sealing, expanding foam should have been used to fill the gap between the wall and frame, none was evident in this video, skipping it can cause damp ingress and window condensation. I recently had all my windows replaced, none of the old windows had expanding foam installed around the frames to wall, this led to excessive dampness on the surrounding inner walls and condensation on the internal glass being due to cold air and moisture intrusion. These windows cost thousands to install, £6,843 to be precise, so they should be fitted correctly for the price.

I prefer the Dutch approach: a waterproof membrane extending into the cavity, combined with airtight expanding foam tape. No ugly silicone on my house.
