‘More Than This’ came right at the end [of the UP album recording] and I’d started a thing with guitar samples. I was mucking around with guitars and Daniel Lanois left his beautiful Telecaster here. I can’t play guitar to save my life but I can make noises on it. I’d always liked it and in fact it was actually driving through the Italian Alps, again it is one of these scenic detours, and I found this old cassette which had this stuff on it where I’d been playing around with a different groove and that started all to make sense to me at that point. - pg More Than This was released as a single on 30 December 2002. Performance filmed in the Big Room at Real World Studios earlier that same year.

🐿️ Since I’m right next to them (members) watching all the members prepare, one thing I felt while watching this promotion period is that I think the members have always been like this. I mean, when it comes to the part each person is given - the part where they’re the main focus - I think they’ve always worked incredibly hard to make that part look as attractive as possible. And what made me happy this time was that a lot of people came to realize that. That’s what made me happy, nothing else. In the end, it’s the same for the other members and for me as well, but when I looked at the process Sanie went through and the effort he put into preparing, I don’t think it was luck at all. I watched the various steps that went into creating that part, and since I was beside him through all of it, what I felt was not, “He was just lucky,” but rather, “People recognized the parts he had thought so much about (and put effort into it).” That’s why it made me happy. If, during the process of preparing, we hadn’t actually gone through all of that - if there hadn’t been that history behind it - I think I would’ve genuinely been like, “What are we supposed to do?” If I’d thought, “This isn’t what we intended… From what I see, this is completely… (??),” then I think I would’ve been worried. But there definitely was effort put into creating it. I know that the other members are constantly making those kinds of efforts too. I know it, and I’ll keep doing that as well. Of course, it’s also true that this opportunity became even more of a stimulus/inspiration for me and gave me motivation to work harder. On Sundays, I’ve been going and sitting with my 90 year-old Grandfather. This Sunday he let me know that he’s not sure if he will make it to the end of the year. I’ve been recording our conversations. He told me about everything I survived as a child through neglect, abuse, being born drug addicted and how proud of me he was. He said one of his last wishes is that I change parties and become a democrat 😂 we both laughed. Yesterday it was suggested he go to hospice care. Let’s love on our elders while they are still here.

When I asked the DOJ about it, they said they received it that way, which means that Kash FBI kept them redacted when they gave it to the DOJ, which is interesting. A lot of names of billionaires and elites. The second thing is there's just so much to go through. I have to go back. I actually went on Reddit and asked folks what documents they think I should look at. There were millions of views, tens of thousands of responses. We're going to be going through that.
