Sean Penn absolutely needs to act more. His performance in #OneBattleAfterAnother is a reminder that Penn is a once in a lifetime talent. Penn was the face of a generation of actors. He’s only 65 & I really hope he has another few decades of great performances. What an actor.

Mickey Rourke gave the performance of his life in The Wrestler but fell short of the #Oscar when he ran into Sean Penn for Milk. I think Penn ultimately deserved the win but Rourke is beyond belief here. This resurrected his career. I will always value this performance & film.

Sean Penn has already proven himself to be an outstanding director. Don’t believe me? Clearly you haven’t seen Into the Wild. This film made such an impression on me when I was in high school. It still has power over me. The fact Penn directed this film, in addition to winning 3 Oscars as an actor, is so fucking impressive. Personal feelings aside, Penn is a special artist.
