Thank you all for the support — this project was in the works for a long time, and it means a lot. Make sure to also follow John (@Jbn3ex), who translated everything and absolutely carried the trip. More soon! 🗺️

This video is now live on YouTube too:

Today I leaned that if you head to the literal end of the road. Then press further, into the edge of the world, to a dense, remote land largely untouched by man…you’ll find USAID and NGOs have already been there and bravely set about fucking shit up for the locals.

Incredible work, particularly in the discovery of that migrant camp. Very few people would expect that the locals to these places were also massively impacted and disaffected by the replacement migration to the United States.

Yes I will watch tonight 👹

Looks fantastic

@nikitabier give this man the Big Prize this cycle

@nikitabier 😲

Very very cool.

Oh wow, I never knew I hated Norway before this.

Incredible adventure my man, keep up the great work!

Incredible.

Very cool Alaric.

Very cool! You can just do things!

I'm cheering for you guys!

This is so much more important than anything happening on this website rn

Amazing

Excellent work

@tr_hudson Very cool. Fascinating discovery on the NGO village. Would’ve been crazy to see what it was like when full.

this is awesome

@DoormanForCats

I wonder how explosive it would have been had you visited the NGO village during the peak of the border crisis

I don’t think they would have let us film, or even get upriver. The media coverage from that era was clearly enmeshed with the NGOs themselves, and showed only a very specific angle. The messaging was coordinated and not, imo, what a neutral observer would take away

Thank you for undertaking this journey and sharing this story I really enjoyed it

Dude this is awesome, always good to see our guys adventuring and living life. Enjoy!

This was incredibly cool.

Can you send me money to get permission from the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to visit several newly excavated Buddhist stupas before they are destroyed to make way for a Chinese copper mine in the coming years?

Incredible work dude

Hell yeah! I've been waiting so long to watch this.

Incredible work, Alaric. I'm glad to hear you're going back, too.

Another anon revealed to be a handsome Chad, and an explorer nonetheless. Making our ancestors proud!

Total Anon victory. Facelords in shambles. They have no response to this.

Was he friendly? 🐖

Very

Come to Australia and check out the Gympie pyramid (you can’t, it’s now been declared a sacred spiritual site and permanently closed)

Sounds like a challenge

@MASSExpedition Actual photos of Alaric searching for treasure and glory

Super cool! Did any of the local gov/people that you spoke to seem interested or at least not hostile to further archaeological work on this? Would be cool to see work to uncover these without an Australian Aboriginal style destruction or blockage.

It’s just bureaucratically complex. The next thing I’d like to do is lidar, which I think could be done through the Smithsonian Tropical Institute. Would just need many permits

LETS GOO! Dude this is so cool! Great accomplishment!

Why is your boat sequence set to Cuban music? 🤣

“It sounded nice”

the european government agency set ups were interesting to see. these people in a tiny village having migrantion from the entire world inflicted on them, by the whole world, as collateral damage of americans being the target.
