Can someone please explain the fact that he obviously got arrested before the bombs dropped but was then present with his daughter when they dropped I think I’m actually slow

you’re not slow valid question the answer is we don’t know yet but the part where he’s divorced and performing at birthday parties comes much later after he’s arrested

Ok ok I see tysm

my thing is how did he get her to her mom but never know what vault they were in? how did they get from hollywood to vegas (or colorado?) faster than the vaults doors locked? if barbara is vault tech why did she let janey go to a party w her dad on bomb day?

I get you lol it’s all over the place I’m not even sure if his family’s alive at this point

@empresssiive My theory is the daughter is a grown woman & the wife is now dead. They were thawed out decades ago

@mvdpire this too & she wont even recognize her

It's a really cool scene but it bothers the hell out of me that there was no bright flash for the first homb (the others that follow are pretty good tho)

oh good catch maybe it’s supposed to be showing that it was an inside job first?

Maybe, could've been detonated from underground too

until you realize cooper is supposed to get her all the way to vegas as nukes are dropping. then you just start to wonder how the show is even happening snrk

Seeing this and realising that cooper isnt just scared bc the bombed dropped but that HE HELPED CAUSE THIS. I LOVE THIS SCENE

The fact that look was more than just terror but the realization he help the bombs to drop cause the nuclear apocalypse

How did Coop go from what we have seen of him to doing this birthday party? How did Janey go from being with Cooper when the bombs dropped to a vault for management?

The ghouls intro has gotta be one of the coldest in TV history

we have to see what happened afterwards, i also want to see cooper becoming a ghoul

Tbf though season 2 makes this scene 100x better knowing he played an accidently HUGE part in making that happen

On that note I really hope we see Teagan Meredith as Janey Howard again in S3. She had a good chemistry with Walton and her perfomance really sold the opening scene and Cooper's love for Janey.

This scene was so chilling on first watch, absolutely nailed the opening of the show

she never forgot that moment her whole life

Although I disagree in terms of the full season. I can’t deny this being the best scene in the whole show.

The story has progressed in a way that has made this amazing scene make no sense whatsoever, they’ll probably just right it off as a nightmare.

Wasted opportunity to make a good show. Instead we got Amazon slop.

"Is it your thumb or mine?" Is right up there with "Look, Mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky"

My theory is that there was a vault nearby and Barb and whoever from vault tech took Janey and they left Coop to die or committed him to some kind of experiment that made him the way he is

So Janey didn't make it into the cryochamber? Did her mother?

Season 2 lacked depth and I felt like it had too much going on

NOTHING like this in season 2, they used a lot of the sources for a great start and now it got... lazy?

this scene is great because he not only doesn't let the black guy in purely because hes black he also punches him

Season 1: "Allow me to take you on a grand adventure" Season 2: "Arent we quirky? Heh." ..."Why are you still here? Thats it. Thats the show. Go away, now"

I wanna know how he ended up getting seperated from Janey soooo bad, seems like we’ll find out next season finally

Personally I’d say s2 as a whole, but nothing in s2 tops this. This scene is 100x better with the context of s2 tho

And when will know HOW she ended up in a vault with her mother in Las Vegas??

Technically you shouldn’t be able to outrun the blast but also the fact there was several explosions makes me think they were not nukes, one nuke would have been enough to destroy that city, not going to sweat it though, S3 will answer some of those questions.

This is going to go down as one of the best openings in TV history.. People need to get past their bullshit and admire the show for what it is.. What a way to just wipe the good feelings away and instill DREAD.. Better than Fallout 4 did if you ask me by a long shot.

Crazy how the best scene of the series is the opening scene💀

The burning question: Why doesn't Coop know what happened to Janey when he had her at bomb drop time? The reason we don't know is half this show is flashbacks and the more unresolved questions we have the more content they can pour into that vehicle.

My heart dropped when I saw this scene and I knew the show was going to be special

watching people get nuked is so rewarding

I have enjoyed fallout on the whole. When compared to disasters like nu-trek it is good. Very good. Yes, plot holes, but what adaptation doesn't.

What a fucking way to start the series off. Incredible scene
