BREAKING: The AMERICAN EAGLE roller coaster will RACE ONCE AGAIN at Six Flags Great America for the first time in nearly a decade. The park announced that EAGLE will race during the park’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, which is happening from June 20-August 9. The classic wooden roller coaster opened in 1981 with a red train and blue train racing side by side. It is the tallest, fastest, and longest racing wooden roller coaster in the world. Six Flags Great America opened to the public 50 years ago today - May 29, 1976. In honor of the big day, the park is handing out party hats and some treats. There will be a fireworks show at 9:30pm.

So the roller coaster breaks down, people get stranded hundreds of feet in the air, firefighters risk their lives climbing up to rescue everyone... ...and the lawsuit is against the firefighter instead of the amusement park? Maybe I'm missing something, but if I were hanging off a roller coaster waiting to be rescued, my biggest concern wouldn't be where a firefighter's hand was while trying to keep me from falling. Common sense has officially left the station. 🚒🙄
