Sebastian Stan challenged audiences to question their own “belief systems” at the “Fjord” #NYFF premiere: “We have to have the courage to recognize our own flaws, no matter what our belief systems are as human beings, and how that might affect our judgment of each other, and also how... show more

True freedom gives each of us the right to make decisions about our own life – how we worship, who we marry, what our family looks like. And we believe that freedom requires us to recognize that other people have the freedom to make different choices. That’s what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz believe.

“Our journey has been quite long, and trying, difficult, but that’s the beauty of it. That we are where we are, through those difficulties. We have endured, we have survived, we want to do just as much to be better human beings, to be where we want to be that some people in other parts of the world have taken for granted. We will be there no matter what.” President Kagame | #RwandaDay

Incredible last few minutes of the Rick Rubin / Adam Neumann interview. I got chills listening to this. --- Adam: We'll connected to this week's portion. We all have something that we're slaves to. We all have an addiction to anger, to ego, to power, whatever it is, idol worship that we have. We all have an Egypt. We all need to leave that Egypt, come out of it. When we come out of that Egypt, we all face a Red Sea. When we see that Red Sea, we all need to have the courage to walk into it so far that we drown. Only when we're willing to drown will the Red Sea be split and we'll go to our next level. We then go to our next level. We see the Red Sea split. Suddenly we're like, oh, everything is okay. And we forget. The moment we forget, we step into the desert. We all have to walk through our version of desert. That desert is between us, us, and God. No one else. The only decision we get to have is how long we're going to journey through that desert. Are we going to journey for 14 days like the children of Israel were supposed to? Or are we going to journey for 40 years because we're not learning our lesson? Our choice is not, are we going to get into the desert or not? It's how long will we be in. And once we go out of that desert, we all have our version of the promised land. And if we have the courage to look inside, see our own correction, our own limitation, look at it clearly now and say, I see you, and I'm going to get over it. I'm going to learn. I'm going to grow. I'm going to understand that life is not about falling down. It's about how I'm going to get up. I'm going to fall 1,000 times so I can get up 1,001 times. And in that last time when I get up and I'm actually ready to go to my next level, I'm going to wish for you, for me, and for everybody who are listening — please, may we have the courage to go to our next level because we know that the promised land is waiting right after it. And may we not be afraid when the whole world is saying this or that about us. Who cares? It's about what you think, what your wife thinks, what your kids think, and what the universe thinks. Rick: Amen. Adam: Amen. Thank you. Thank you, Hashem. Thank you.

Jean Charest: "We're not as big as the United States. We know that. We have to be more strategic. We have to be smarter. And we have to have a hard look at ourselves and our own economy and what it is that we have to do here at home to make ourselves more competitive. So that 20 years from now we thank Donald Trump."

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos was described by the Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Kirsten Hillman as “his view of what is happening in our world.” “I think that what it does mean for us is that we can't walk away from our principles,” Hillman said. “We can't walk away from our belief in rules that are to be abided by by everyone if they commit to them. But, at the same time, we have to be pragmatic and we have to look inward to control what we can within our own economies.”

OpenAI researcher Boaz Barak says he’d trade some AI-driven abundance to keep humans in control of their own destiny: "If our goal was to maximize energy production, create the most stuff, then I probably agree that in the end, we should just let the superintelligence optimize for that goal. They will do it better than us. But I don't think that's our goal as human beings." "Our goal as human beings is to control our own destiny and to do the things that we value. I don't want AI dictators, even if they are benevolent. I don't want AIs to be our parents." "Our goal as humans should be that we are still in charge of our own destiny, even if it means that we create a little bit less stuff. We have the Dyson spheres a little bit later." OpenAI

We have a duty to teach our children that they are blessed to live in the greatest civilization in the history of the world. And it's our mission as conservatives to do everything we can to conserve America's culture for the next generation.

Warnock: "Cynicism & despair sets in & rather than people turning toward each other they are tempted to turn on each other, & that creates just the kind of atmosphere where strong men emerge promising to solve all of our problems in one fell swoop. We have to resist that & recognize that the way toward our own wholeness and wellbeing is to affirm the humanity of our neighbors."

Rachel Millwall, "What is striking is we are the fifth richest country in the world and yet a third of our children live in poverty" "Children are hungry in schools, so they cannot learn" "Our NHS is crumbling, there's a housing crisis. How can this be?" "We're the fifth richest country in the world" "It doesn't have to be that way" "The reason Keir Starmer needs to go is because he is weak, because he lacks vision and because it's a time when we need bold courage and we need to really transform the systems that we have so that ordinary people's lives are made easier, so that bills come so that we stop kowtowing to profit" "And we have a much fairer, economy"

We are being lied to. 1.4 million net migrants under Albanese. We are being told that they are contributing. But very few of them are actually the doctors and tradesmen that we need. Why aren’t we training up our own people? Our native-born replacement rate is at 1.4 - why aren’t we supporting our own young people to have the number of children that they want, instead of the number of children that they can afford? We have solutions to our problems that do not include bringing in millions of unwanted foreigners and being lied to that they fill our skills shortages. Australia should be for Australians. #AustraliaFirst #Auspol #immigration #replacementrate

I am a Hindu from England and it is a deeply traumatising experience for me to exist in Indian society. Every year the government bans my own festivals, bans our traditions. We are CONSTANTLY traumatised and gaslighted out of our ancestral birth identity. We are told to shut up about our own genocide, our own history. It is traumatising to just exist as an indigenous Hindu and see that our religious freedoms have been snatched in our own land. This needs to change and it changes when we wake up and realise we have to fight for our rights and independence. जय श्री राम

Germany’s Chancellor Merz: Why all of this? What is, so to speak, the overarching idea? What is the story behind it? What is the purpose of these reforms? Well, ladies and gentlemen, perhaps that is the answer we have failed to provide more than any other. I do not exclude myself from that criticism. We will have to provide an answer — especially to the younger generation in Germany. We have to give the younger generation a convincing answer as to what our country stands for and where our society is supposed to be heading.

The society we abuse today will eventually take its toll on our children, because they will only learn by our example. Everything we are experiencing in our country today is a reflection of the decay of civility and orderliness. When we choose to conduct both our public and personal lives with bad behaviour and rascality, we normalise bad behaviour, lawlessness, and criminality. I watched a heartbreaking video that showed students in Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State running for their lives as they were being shot at during their student election yesterday which left 2 students dead and several injured. The question is: Where did they learn it from? Are they cursed, or are we the political leaders who are cursed? When we have chosen to "fight, snatch it, grab it, and run with it" how can we expect our children to do it rightly and democratically when they have learned from us? This is not just disgraceful, it’s a national indictment. When we, the leaders, have chosen to fight, snatch, grab and run with it, our children have learned similar and rascality is now a normal situation. It is now up to us, the leaders, to learn how to restore civility, order, and core values in our society by ensuring that our character and behaviour reflect the change we seek in our society. We must do better, for our students, for our children, and for our country. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
