UPDATE: environmental harms are real for our community. While the warehouse is burning in Boyle Heights within the City of Los Angeles boundaries, it is only ONE BLOCK away from East Los Angeles. With the wind pushing the smoke east, it is mostly unincorporated East LA that is receiving the toxic fumes, ash, and environmental hazards from this fire. With no local city council or mayor, we are reliant only on the County Supervisor Hilda Solis who for the most past has been ABSENT from East LA. No community meeting has been set up from her office to address the 25,000 gallons (595 barrels) of crude oil that spilled onto the streets of East LA just a few weeks ago. DISGRACEFUL. Now this. Please stay safe and stay indoors. We must demand justice.
