This is important to understand in regards to Donald Trump's tariffs. There are immediate tariffs that are based on countries - Canada and Mexico securing the border to illegal immigration and fentanyl and then there are the tariffs that will be studied later (doubt they will happen on Canada). Howard Lutnick - Trump's Commerce Secretary nominee: "The short term issues is illegal migration and fentanyl coming into the country...the labs in Canada are run by Mexican Cartels...this tariff model is to shut their borders and respect America. It's a separate tariff to create action from Canada." Do they need to draw Justin Trudeau a fooking picture with crayons for him to get it?! The US is simply asking what Canada should be doing all along: stop turning a blind eye to all the drug labs and trucking industry transporting drugs. Enforce the law. Stop releasing criminals back out and crack down on human trafficking that literally advertise openly on social media in Canada. Getting 2 helicopters to patrol the border is weak af. Canada needs to go to Washington and work together on an acceptable plan. Create cooperation and dialogue. Instead of doing what's good for Canada the Liberals are using the situation to escalate it into a power grab.
