SEC Rule Change #1

If this is the new rule, wouldn't they have to make hard counts illegal because by definition, it is simulating the start of the play? Offense has the adv of knowing the snap count, that is why false starts exist. This puts the def at huge disadvantage. Don't see this going well.

Mind blowing "rule"....how bout offensive lineman go on the snapcount. If this is a rule change then offense CANNOT hard count or FREEZE/LOOK cuz that's simulating a snap count. No need for a rule change. Just play/operate on both sides of the ball as it has been for decades.

This definitely won’t piss people off and confuse things.

This is really dumb. If you do this, then you have to also penalize blitzers or guys who are giving the appearance of blitzing from flinching towards the OL as if they are about to come across, and any sudden movement could be perceived as a “delay of game.”

That’s weak. It all comes down to making your players more disciplined at the line.
