🇺🇸🇵🇾 SEC. RUBIO: WE’VE SECURED A MAJOR ANTI-TERROR DEAL WITH PARAGUAY Sec. Rubio just announced a new Status of Forces Agreement with Paraguay, officially making the country a frontline partner in the fight against transnational terrorist networks threatening the Western Hemisphere. The agreement enables joint training, real-time intelligence sharing, equipment transfers, and rapid humanitarian coordination, all while respecting Paraguay’s sovereignty. Rubio called the deal a model for how the U.S. can build real regional strength, through security and economic ties alike. "The biggest threat in the Western Hemisphere that we face is a threat of transnational criminals, networks, transnational terrorist networks. The most serious problem we have in our hemisphere is these transnational terrorist organizations who are ideologically terrorists in many cases, but are financial and economic in their basis. They threaten the stability and security of the region. We need strong partners to confront them. What we sign today is a status of forces agreement that allows us to formalize a partnership that already exists and that we want to build upon. That allows us to train together, to share intelligence in real time, to operate together when necessary... and to respond quickly to humanitarian crises. Paraguay is among our strongest allies in the world, and certainly in the region." Source: Eric Daugherty, Secretary Marco Rubio
