The war should continue because a ceasefire would favor Putin. Kirby said, "While that sounds perfectly reasonable and it sounds like a good thing, a ceasefire right now would basically ratify Russia's conquest. "So a ceasefire right now, in our view, would constitute another continued violation of the UN Charter. "Russia would basically be free to use that ceasefire to further entrench its positions in Ukraine, to rebuild their forces, retrain them so that they can then restart attacks at a time of their choosing." #WATCH | J&K | A soldier of the Indian Army says, "This episode took place on the intervening night of 7-8 May. Pakistan violated the ceasefire. We studied the pattern of fire and retaliated accordingly within seconds. We destroyed their bunkers and launching pads and inflicted heavy casualties... This is a Medium Machine Gun (MMG), and has heavy fire power... When Pakistan could not retaliate to our fire on their posts, they started targeting our civilian areas... The enemy sent drones as well, but since the drones were from another country, the Pakistani troops were not well trained to handle them. We destroyed their drones also..."

Following heavy clashes this morning in around Suwayda, between Druze-majority militias and the Bedouin/tribal militias in Southern Syria. The Syrian Interior Ministry has announced that internal security forces have begun to deploy into the countryside to the north and west of Suwayda, in order to enforce the ceasefire brokered last night by the United States and Damascus. The Commander of the Syrian Internal Security Forces has called on tribal militias to immediately withdraw from the frontline and cease any further hostilities against the Druze, with security forces so far having only deployed to areas around but not inside the city of Suwayda, where fighting is still taking place between the Bedouin and the Druze.
