From ruins, we built a state from scratch peace, institutions, and democracy without foreign control. Today, Somaliland stands as a democratic island in the Horn of Africa. Six presidents. Six elections. Elected local councils and parliament. Multiple security forces. Our own currency. Our own governance. This is not a theory of statehood. It is statehood in practice. Somaliland contributes to regional and global security, protects vital trade routes, and adds stability where it is most needed. Israel recognized us in 2025, as it did in 1960 because recognition does not create reality. Reality demands recognition.

The Islamic scholars today warned that the misuse of religion and wrong "interpretation of Islam" to undermine #Somaliland peace and democracy. "It will not succeed," they said. The Muslim clerics also stated that the Houthis are #Iranian proxies and affirmed that the people of "Somaliland would defend themselves" if the Houthis were to attack Somaliland. They welcomed Israel's recognition of Somaliland as s positive and rightly decision. The statement amounts to a strong endorsement of Somaliland–Israel recognition.
