See, this is why I truly like Premier Smith. She understands why many Albertans want independence. She has not caved to the narrative of ‘those people are traitors’. I hope she actually will act to do more, and move on from letters and committees. But she is pretending that a pipeline will fix the failings in the constitution act and charter that keeps Alberta as an abused colony-like province. I am glad she has not stopped us.

I'm looking forward to having her as my Premier when I get back to Alberta in the spring. The only truly democratic politician in Canada.

I respect that she’s open to the idea of being remembered as a woman who allowed a peaceful transition of power at the people’s request if they so choose. Those are the leaders we talk about hundreds of years later.

Deluded if you think negotiations inside Canada will address constitutional/energy issues etc. Only way any negotiation will have any chance at success is within a sovereign Alberta. Rest of the country will NEVER agree to constitutional changes. Premier Smith's pro-Canada alignment with the leftist makes an already difficult campaign even more difficult. With all conservatives aligned, victory in the referendum can happen which if she is such a pro-Canada politician, is ironically the greatest chance for a deal, even with a country that doesn't care or want a deal. The answer is pretty obvious. "Many" is a polite way of saying that the separatist demographic is well under a majority, and actually is less after the economic realities are explained to them. She serves only oil companies and a small minority of Albertans.
