Where do I even begin if I want to learn painting

Start with drawing. Draw a lot from life and from reference to get a feel for proportion and form. Play around with paint to start to get a feel for how it works and how it’s different from pencil.

Amazing, I love seeing these progress videos, but I am curious why grisaille underpainting wasn’t used here as well?

Still undecided on the underpainting. Every once in a while I mix it up and try something different.
