Small Language Models (SML) are the future of AI. "Small" (SML) instead of "Large" (LLM). These small models are highly specialized models with superhuman abilities on specific tasks. Here are two techniques to build these models: • Spectrum • Model Merging I give you a short introduction in the attached video, but here is a quick summary: Spectrum helps us identify the most relevant layers to solve one specific task. We can ignore everything else and focus on fine-tuning these layers. Using Spectrum, we can fine-tune models in a heartbeat. Model Merging combines multiple models into a unique, much better model than any of the individual input models. You can also combine models specialized in different tasks and get a model with multiple abilities. This is the state of the art of productizing models. It's what Arcee.ai's platform does behind the scenes. Arcee collaborated with me on this post and is sponsoring it. There are three main steps to produce a model for your particular use case: 1. It sucks to see my art sell for peanuts. Because in a way "my worth" is literally tied to these prices. Like my art is sold on the stock market, next to all these rugs all the bullshit and yet it's sold for pennies on the dollar. Why? I could have done things differently. Obviously my timing was off with the release. Though in hindsight I'm grateful it's out there. I know a large group of you supported me, believed in me, and saw the vision. The vision we have been dreaming off since 2021. The kind of vision that makes normies ask "how do I get this". The vision that only makes sense on the chain. But here we are. A FP going down. And beyond it sucking for my ego. I know it sucks really hard for those who believed in me You supported me. Big time. And yet here we are. I feel so scammed, I commissioned an artist I loved for my first ever vtuber model back in 2022 for $650 but when i received it it was un-Rig-able and unusable, I even made sure to check with multiple riggers. I contacted the artist and we came to an agreement they will draw me more art to make up for it, (we agreed on one full body, one headshot, and 4 emotes) they deliver one of the art pieces about 6 months after receiving the first piece and no progress on anything else i just asked for a partial refund of $300 (image in thread). They agreed to pay this in installments, they have payed $50, then since have ghosted me, I don’t think I’m getting my money back, but I wanted to warn people to be careful who them commission models from and make sure they have the proper experience, and to avoid this artist for a model. I’ve been really hesitant to talk about this for a while because I really don’t know what to do and I wanted to be patient with the artist This is really upsetting because I really loved this artist so much and wanted them to be my mama, but my view/relationship of them is now not that great :/

Most voice models are great at cloning voices, but they still manage to erase the person. I have an accent. Voice models don't know how to preserve it. Whenever I clone my voice, models get the words right, but mess up the rhythm badly. They flatten my vowels, and everything drifts toward a generic American accent. I'm attaching one example from Mirage. This is the first model I have heard of that can reproduce access as-is. • My accent stays intact, even when speaking English and Spanish • My pacing and cadence feel intentional, not averaged • The expressivity of my voice comes through Best part: Mirage only needs a short sample of your voice to clone it. I think this solves the hard part of voice cloning: intelligibility is easy, but identity is what makes a huge difference.
