Sen. Markey: If Republicans truly cared about protecting children, they would reverse the nearly $1 trillion Medicaid cuts that are stripping coverage for millions of children and their families all across our country. If they really cared about children, they would extend the ACA premium tax credits, so families...

Too many parents are already forced to choose between paying rent and paying for childcare, yet Republicans are debating a bill that would allow employers to exclude childcare benefits from overtime pay. If they truly cared about children and families, they should pass my bill with Ranking Member Rep. Bobby Scott and Katherine Clark, the Child Care for Working Families Act.

The Affordable Care Act didn’t fix every issue in our health care system. But working families are facing a cliff right now if we don't extend these tax credits. If they don't act, Republicans will force millions of people to lose their coverage.

I’m confused about how Republicans suddenly care about “fraud,” but say nothing about Trump’s. 👀 Today’s hearing was a distraction from the reality: millions are days away from losing their health coverage because Republicans refuse to extend ACA tax credits. Their own constituents will be hit the hardest — tens of thousands losing coverage entirely. If they actually cared about lowering costs, they’d sign the discharge petition today.

Donald Trump passed the largest cut to Medicaid in our country's history and let the health insurance premium tax credits expire. If Republicans won’t extend the tax credits, I’ll do it on the state level. Minnesotans need lower health care costs and they need them now.

Republicans are taking away health care from 15 million Americans. They are doubling premiums for 20 million. Now, they are illegally withholding emergency SNAP funding that keeps millions of children from going hungry. All so they can give $1 trillion in tax breaks to the 1%.

If Democrats truly cared about protecting health care for AMERICANS, they would have supported Republicans’ Working Families Tax Cut - that STRENGTHENS Medicaid for AMERICANS who NEED and DESERVE it. Our bill removed illegal aliens and able-bodied young men from the rolls - eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse (including removal of 2.3 million improper enrollments so far), and saving taxpayers $185 BILLION. Now Democrats want to shut down the AMERICAN government — to give AMERICAN taxpayer-funded healthcare to NON-AMERICANS.

House Republicans have a choice to make. This is the last week to avoid a coverage cliff that will push millions off their insurance and even more onto new, more expensive plans. If they're serious about lowering costs, they need to help us extend the ACA tax credits.

This woman is talking about when she was at Walmart and saw so many families struggling to buy food for their children now that school is out and they aren’t able to eat at school like they usually do. The price of groceries has skyrocketed and they can barely feed their kids.

Before Republicans voted to gut Medicaid to fund billionaire tax cuts, they said the American people would just “get over it.” Tell that to the millions of Americans who are about to lose their coverage and the millions more who are about to see their costs skyrocket.

AOC loves to talk about being a bartender, but bartenders depend on tips. If Dems actually cared about working people, they would not back policies that take money out of their pockets. They would rather block President Trump and Republicans than help working families.

Colorado families are already struggling to get by as the costs of childcare, rent, and groceries continue to skyrocket. The least we could do is make things a little bit easier and extend the ACA tax credits that make their health insurance more affordable. I will do everything I can to extend these tax credits and bring down health care costs for working families.

Ursula Haverbeck talks about the "Morgenthau" and the "Hooton" plans to eliminate the Germans 'We know what our enemies would do to the German people if they could. They would enslave many millions and starve the rest. Our existence is at stake: the existence of our children and our children's children; everything that makes life worth living.' Adolf Hitler

Frost: One of the Republicans today, in response to the birthright decision, said, “Well, you know, we’re disappointed in it because there are people who are gaming the system, taking advantage of the system.” And what they’re saying is there’s people giving birth to children in our country. I thought this was the pro-birth, pro-family party. And my other question is, if they don’t want people to give birth, if they don’t want people to have families in this country, what do they want them to do if they get pregnant—have an abortion? I mean, the whole birthright citizenship thing, and the way they’re responding to it, just calls out the hypocrisy that they do not care about families, they don’t care about children.

The ACA was signed into law 16 years ago today, bringing health care coverage to millions of Americans. But now, 22 million Americans are struggling to afford health insurance because Donald Trump and Senate Republicans refused to extend the ACA tax credits, which could drive families into crippling debt. I won’t stand for these attacks because every American deserves access to high-quality, affordable health care.
