I believe that it will disproportionately affect African Americans voters. I believe that in my soul and African Americans fought and died for the right to vote in this country.” "I think it’s a very slippery slope. If you know your history, it reminds me of having to count jelly beans in a jar. It's already the law that only Americans can vote in US elections Real IDs in Pennsylvania do not qualify as proof of citizenship, so that means you would have to pay $165 to get a passport to register to vote. The SAVE America Act will disenfranchise millions of Americans. It's a bad idea, and the Senate should vote against it.

More than 100 years after women secured the right to vote, the SAVE America Act would create new barriers for millions of them. It would require documents many women don’t have readily available, especially the 69 million who’ve changed their name, making it harder to register and cast a ballot. We should be protecting access to the vote, not restricting it.
