Senator Chris Murhpy on Iran's nuclear program: The president has also said over and over again that a goal of the war is to permanently deny Iran the ability to have nuclear weapons. But in our closed-door briefings, we learned that this is not actually a goal of the...

Israel launched a defensive and preemptive strike against Iran’s nuclear operations. Here’s what we know so far. Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear sites, their ballistic missile programs, nuclear infrastructure, engineers, and nuclear scientists, and its top military commanders, including the Chief of Staff and the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, a US designated terrorist organization that arms and funds groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. These attacks unfolded in over five waves and at over 100 quality targets in operations that included aircrafts and additional on the ground intelligence activity. This is not a war between Israel and the Iranian people. This is a fight to stop a terrorist regime from acquiring the most dangerous weapon on earth. According to the IAEA, the UN nuclear watchdog, Iran is now capable of producing up to 15 nuclear bombs. In the last few months and while pretending to negotiate a deal with the US in good faith, Iran has accelerated its nuclear enrichment and weapons program. Iran is the head of the Middle Eastern snake. Their fingerprints can be found in every single bloody conflict in the region. Iran is the greatest sponsor of terrorism in the world and their regime oppresses their own people with their Islamist ideology. Israel cannot allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. The Middle East cannot allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Because a nuclear Iran doesn’t just threaten Israel, it threatens the entire world.

#WATCH | On being asked about the West Asia conflict and where the Islamabad MoU stands right now, Senior Journalist, Political Commentator & Author, Fareed Zakaria says, "It's completely dead. It was predictable that it would be dead... Iran has figured out it has a usable nuclear weapon that can be used as leverage, which is control over the Strait of Hormuz...What we are trying to solve now is a problem created by the war itself, and even that has not been solved. In my opinion, the whole thing is a very humiliating defeat for the United States" "It's completely dead. And it was predictable that it would be dead because it is a memorandum of misunderstanding...Iran has figured out it has a usable nuclear weapon, in other words, a weapon that is actually more powerful because it can be used as leverage. That leverage is control over the Strait of Hormuz, and they want to assert that power...To give you an understanding of how poorly this war has gone for the United States, remember President Trump's original goal, which was to destroy the Iranian regime, have the people of Iran launch an uprising, and bring democracy to Iran. That didn't work. The goal number two became the nuclear issue...The desire to get the Iranians to hand over their enriched uranium, swear that they would never use it again, and permanently end the program none of that has happened. The third goal then became control of the Strait of Hormuz, which, of course, was open before the war. What we are trying to solve now is a problem created by the war itself, and even that has not been solved. In my opinion, the whole thing is a very humiliating defeat for the United States" Watch full interview here:
