The office of The ODM Party’s Secretary General is not a platform for personal opinion. It is an institutional role that demands discipline and loyalty to the party constitution. Edwin Sifuna has failed in this duty. If he wishes to pursue a different political path, that is his democratic right. But as long as he remains ODM’s Secretary General, he must respect the Party Leader and communicate the party’s official position, not his own. The Secretary General does not make policy. He articulates it. Personal views masquerading as party position are unacceptable. He was handpicked by the party, and the party can handpick another. ODM is bigger than any individual.

Babu, by virtue of being a member of NEC and also MP for Embakasi, is a delegate at that NDC. They are not necessarily going to storm; they can attend the NDC, and we hope they will attend the NDC. We lost our leader, and that is a serious matter. We are stabilizing as we move forward. People can have different opinions, as in the case of Sifuna, they can do something different in the manner in which they are doing, but the party must stabilize. Some people will decide to leave, and you can’t stop them #JKLive
