The thing is with Kyle Connor the trade package would be beyond expensive even if he chooses his destination. It would make 100x more sense just to wait the year and let him sign for free during free agency.

Love the idea here, KC is from Clinton. Only thing is I don’t think he’s unhappy in Winnipeg (yet). But losing Ehlers definitely helps starting that downward spiral that could end making him ask out or get delt if their season goes south

Would love Jason Robertson too. Younger, also has 1 year left, has Mich ties as he moved from CA to Detroit to play hockey. DAL is more pressed for cap space than WPG. Doesn't feel very likely but that would be my pipe dream.

One thing Jim has going for him is good edits and not saying umm and ahh every 15 seconds.

I like where your head’s at here Jim but what reason does Winnipeg, who is trying to win now, have to give up Connor now for futures? You (and I) may agree their runway is short but it runs through this season and I guarantee their front office doesn’t share the same sentiment.

If Connor makes it known I’m not re-signing and my preference is to sign in Detroit in 2026 what is their best course of action
