ICE agents in Yonkers, NY went to arrest one illegal immigrant with a criminal warrant and, in the process, detained two additional illegals as collateral arrests. Since sanctuary states refuse to cooperate with federal authorities and release foreign criminals from jail directly back onto the streets instead of into ICE custody, federal agents are now forced to go into neighborhoods to locate and arrest them. As a result, ICE ends up making collateral arrests. This situation didn’t have to happen. It could have been avoided if Democrats ensured that local law enforcement worked with ICE.
