SEO Tip: Ahrefs new "Content Changes" feature will show you the EXACT changes a competitor used to improve organic traffic. Here's how you use it: This is one of the biggest feature adds to any SEO tool that I can remember. Ahrefs new "Content Changes" will automatically detect when... show more

1. Run an individual URL through Ahrefs

2. In the "Performance" section, click the three vertical dots and choose "Content Changes".

3. Ahrefs will overlay green dots at the bottom of automatically detected page changes

4. Click one around when the page saw a significant traffic uptick and choose "View Changes"

5. Ahrefs will then provide a diff comparison of the old content vs the new content. You can analyze the differences to see which changes likely moved the needle for the page.

In this example, I analyzed a page that dramatically improved for the query "scallops recipe". By using "Content Changes", I can see the page changes that likely led to the improvements: 1. They added new content sections such as "Key Ingredients", "What to Serve with Seared Scallops" and "Storing Seared Scallops" 2. They moved the steps for "How To Cook Scallops" further up the page 3. They removed content such as "How To Buy Scallops". 4. They rewrote sections that started to go off topic such as talking about how cooking scallops is like cooking shrimp.

If you were a recipe site, you would immediately understand what change you could make to your page. In the larger scheme of things, you would have a better understanding of content Google finds helpful (How To Store, Ingredients) and what content it doesn't (How To Buy).

This is such as huge feature add as there's so many great SEO cases. Definitely recommend using Content Changes when analyzing competitor content.

@ahrefs they have 1/3rd copied what RivalFlow does. @RivalFlowAI would be a good addition to your arsenal. (from the creators of @spyfu which was started 6 years prior to Ahrefs - just realized this myself)

@ahrefs Man I wish SEMRush has something like this!!!
