The Apple TV doc on this, Inside the President's War Room, is v good. It shows actual Air Force One doing such a "performance limits" take off, nearly straight up, as they feared an RPG at end of runway - after the school briefing.

I remember coming home from school and seeing this plane out of my backyard flying fairly low. Which I thought was very odd since I live in Iowa 30 miles East of Omaha.

Jesus this gave me goosebumps. That pilot was going to will that plane to Offutt with all his being.
