Wow. China just compieted an in-flight abort test of their crewed Moon spacecraft. This was the last major milestone before the agency can conduct an uncrewed orbital flight to their space station at the end of 2026. Mengzhou can carry a crew of 7 to orbit or 3 to the Moon.

What would happen if the Moon took the place of the ISS? 🌕 If our satellite were positioned at the altitude of the ISS orbit (about 400 km), life on Earth would change forever. The Moon would fill almost the entire sky, eclipsing the Sun during every orbit—a journey that would take just 90 minutes. The gravitational pull of such a massive object at close range would instantly trigger colossal ocean tides hundreds of meters high, washing away coastal cities on a daily basis.
