Geez. That's part of it, but mostly they're flat out stealing thru the fake grants to their fake non-profits/non-gov LLCs and laundering the money and becoming disgustingly rich. They're crooks.

Any member of Congress that says that there is no insider trading in Congress is lying to you! Members are getting +600% on their returns. It is insane and corrupt. The American people overwhelmingly support a ban on stock trading for members but congress doesn’t? I wonder why. We will force this vote.

Business Insider completed a a five-month investigation finding that Nancy Pelosi, dozens of members of Congress and nearly 200 senior congressional staffers had violated the STOCK Act, a law designed to prevent insider trading “Business Insider reporters combed through dozens of documents, finding that lawmakers and staffers frequently missed deadlines for disclosing stock trades, sometimes to the tune of millions of dollars. I asked Speaker Pelosi if members of Congress and their spouses should be banned from trading individual stocks while serving. She said no, stating that we are a free market economy and that lawmakers should be able to participate in it.
