#Hyderabad: Why are students of Hyderabad Central University protesting against the Telangana Govt? The Govt announced to auction 400 acres of land. Govt claims, the land is no forest nor home to any animals and belongs to the Govt . And Minister for IT Sridhar Babu Duddilla assured in the assembly that no land of the HCU will be touched. Students are fighting against alleged land encroachment in this process. The protesting student say( Verbatim) - "The reality is that the state government is misleading students to think that there is a distinction between University land and government land. It is well aware that the entire University is situated in the land of the state government. It was, in fact, the Congress government under Indira Gandhi that originally allocated 2,300 acres of government land for the University. Despite the Telangana High Court submitting to the Supreme Court that the deforested area is home to peacocks, deer, and other wildlife, a section of people with vested interests still claim that there is no wildlife in HCU and Kanche Gachibowli.
