Several reports indicate that Xbox Game Pass will go through significant changes to make the subscription service more sustainable. But DayOne (XboxEra) issues a stern warning to Xbox leadership: Don't touch day 1 releases or it “would be the end”.

These dudes are basically saying, we aren’t paying full price for the games. If your Xbox, cool, go get other customers

Gamepass failed. The sooner Xbox realizes it the better, just axe the entire thing tbh

It's a sticky situation. On the one hand you're losing full game revenue by having them on Game Pass. On the other hand there's likely A LOT of XBOX consoles that were sold on the premise of Game Pass because that was their core competency going into the gen (and late last gen). Many XBOX gamers have their library attached to the digital subscription. If you take away day and date and their, potential, reason to stay in the ecosystem, it is going to be pretty painless to switch over.

Truly, the Xbox leaderships and Xbox fans are the biggest idiots in gaming.

imagine actually listening to these dudes lmfao

Who cares what these dudes say?

Poor Xbox Era, now Day One, will have to change their name again, to À La Carte 😅

@asha_shar end day 1 on gamepass immediately. Make them goofies buy their games since they want to champion physical so hard. if they want exclusives tell them to put their money where their mouth is and stop leeching off gamepass and review keys for games.

Xbox fans need to start buying games again or Xbox is dead in the water.

Day one games is why Game Pass is a disaster for Xbox. Either they get rid of them and embrace a proper exclusive strategy or they go full multiplatform where they can actually sell games outside of Game Pass. Their choice.

That dude on the right needs to sit up straight.

Day 1 is most likely the first thing to go. They want to get back to selling video games. Especially with the $70- $80 price point

@GRIMMYRAX So let me see if I'm understanding this correctly. They want exclusives, but they also don't want to lose Day One with GamePass?

because they know people on that platform don't buy games but they can keep boosting Xbox review scores and see if it helps lmap

Day one releases are dead.

@JSBlackFrost84 See, they don’t want to buy the games but they want the best games. Don’t they see how studios are being closed that it’s because of gamepass

Why is he wearing shades?

Yep.

As I've said Microsoft isn't funding xbox the new ceo is on her own to make the lost money back.

The Day 1 releases are the biggest loss leader, they will 100% cut it. They have no choice.

The day one releases is the key as to why its unsustainable

Day one releases is the reason it’s unsustainable in the first place!!

Lol, that one thinks people saw the cloud pricing and thought "that's not bad"... When the competition includes unlimited 4k streaming with their Premium tier (cheaper than GPU), I'd say that's pretty bad

If they remove day one releases they have to change their name again?

I think they should take off their 1st party games 100% need to be off day1 but they should keep the 3rd party games they pay to go on gamepass. Gamepass is the best deal for gamers no doubt it needs to stay just needs some adjustments

GamePass with out the day one will become nothing, they will lose most or more the half of there subscribers, changes to GamePass will make or break it

I guess the end nears

Day one releases are why they are in the situation they are in with gamepass. Dudes a moron

So they want day one Gamepass games and exclusive games. These guys are not smart.

😂😂😂

The part they have to change is day 1 releases. They've admitted it isn't sustainable themselves now.

"More sustainable" Riiiiiiiight.

Its because of day 1 releases that its in this position its in right now, it should have never had day and date from the start. With Xbox Gamepass is its primary model, with PlayStation PS Plus is supplementary to its existing model, its not soley dependant on it, big difference.

Is common sense, the major reason to have millions of gamers on the expensive plan are day one games. That is where the profit of gamepass comes from.
