Alfred made landfall on Moreton Island off Brisbane as cat one system, expected to cross the mainland, most likely between Maroochydore and Brisbane, on Sat morn, Brisbane expected to be spared the worst of the wind gusts, but the cyclone could generate rainfall up to 800 mm.
