If you have never visited the North and your only exposure to the region is what you read on social media, you would think there isn’t a single Christian living peacefully here and that the moment Christians step on our soil, they would be attacked or killed. But reality tells a completely different story, here is a video recorded just last week in the core North where Christians freely preaching on the streets, unbothered, dancing and having the best time of their lives. The sad part is that northern Christians, who have lived peacefully with Muslims for centuries, mostly remain silent while external forces push dangerous narratives using their name for political purposes. They watch falsehoods, lies and propaganda spread about their own homeland without speaking up to correct them. Such silence from northern Christians only emboldens those trying to create chaos where none exists.

Unwavering solidarity with Ambedkarite Student Leader Sabari Girija Rajan Ms. Sabari Girija Rajan, the President of ASA (Ambedkarite Students Association) at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), along with her family, is currently being subjected to harassment and targeted by a criminal gang driven by casteist motives in Enadimangalam - Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. These individuals are attempting to forcibly displace them from their land through threats and intimidation. They have also illegally cut and stolen valuable trees from her property. Additionally, the President and Secretary of Enadimangalam Grama Panchayat (both affiliated with CPIM) are also implicated in these caste-based criminal activities. In February of the same year, the ASA-SFI alliance achieved a significant victory against the hate politics of ABVP and assumed power at UoH. This triumph holds historical significance as it occurred under the auspices of ASA, the same organization that tragically witnessed the suicide of Rohit Vemula, a victim of caste-based atrocities. Ms. Sabari played a pivotal role in forming a broad coalition here that greatly contributed to this electoral success. Even though these upper caste CPIM leaders of Kerala will never consider the Dalit community as their allies, and these upper castes cannot even accept Dalits living near their abode. That is the reason behind the violence Sabari and her family are facing. This raises concerns about the magnitude of atrocities that ordinary Dalits encounter on a daily basis in Kerala. Sabari's family has already filed a complaint with the area DySP, but the police have not taken any action yet. Past experiences have shown that Kerala Police often fail to effectively address cases of atrocities against SC/ST communities and tend to protect the accused instead. Consequently, Kerala has a high incidence of violence against Dalit and Adivasi communities. Yesterday, Sabari's younger sister and brother held a press conference to address the ongoing harassment their family is enduring, demanding action and seeking justice for their cause. Tourist places are not personal playgrounds, they are sensitive regions, and places of natural beauty. If you cannot respect public spaces, and cultural dignity, you should stay in your room. Don't roam freely and harass others. And anyone who fails to see how this behavior is disrespectful, disturbing, and unacceptable is also part of the same problem.

According to the law, All PSIs and DSPs please listen.. People who do cow vigilantism, saying we are from this dal, that dal. They dont know how much the farmers are struggling. If anybody wears a shawl and says we are from this dal, from this organization and If they take law in their own hands, kick them and put them behind bars. Law is VERY CLEAR. All transportation of live stock whether it is within city limits or in rural areas, if they have permission & documents, stop the harassment. Will you sit in the police station after giving your work to them (Cow vigilante)?. This new harassment was started during previous govt. Last time in Gulbarga, these guys visited homes, they picked up farmers animals. Act according to the law. If anybody takes law in their own hands, there should be strict action taken against them. If anybody is illegally smuggling the animals, be it live stock or any other animals, put them behind bars. There is no denying. But even after having all permissions if someone else is harassing, You ask them. who are they (Cow Vigilante goons) to ask?"

In Marathi their surname is spelt Thakre but they spell it as Thackeray inspired by the British! That is how Donald Trump thinks about America. Make America great again by putting the people in charge even if they don't know what the hell they are doing. But here is the thing. That story is not new. It is the oldest story in the book. It is not even uniquely American. For most of human history, that is the way society has worked. For somebody on top and somebody on bottom. There were lords and peasants. For a long time, that story of caste and privilege and concentrated power was the law of the land here in America. If you look like me, you were likely treated as property. If you were a woman, or a white man who did not own property, you could not vote. But from the very start, there was another story, born of this nation's true revolutionary spirit, a story that says, we the people means what it says, that all of us are included, that we are not subjects, but citizens, defined not by race or religion or gender or sexual orientation, but by our commitment to a common creed and a willingness to accept not just privileges, but responsibilities that come with that citizenship.

There's a Pew poll of Egypt where 82% said stoning was the appropriate punishment for adultery, and over 80% thought death was appropriate for leaving Islam. So to claim this religion is like other religions is naive and wrong. Saudi Arabia has also beheaded people for nonviolent crimes, including homosexuality. Charlie Rose: They even cut the hands off a thief. Bill Maher: Right. We're upset when ISIS beheads people, as we should be, but Saudi Arabia does it too, and they're our friends because they have oil. This is the centre of the religion. In Mecca, non-Muslims aren't even allowed into the holy part of the city. If people were being beheaded in Vatican City, don't you think there'd be a bigger outcry? This is the soft bigotry of low expectations. When Muslim people do or believe things we consider extreme, it's somehow not discussed nearly as much. Charlie Rose: I don't believe what we see with ISIS represents Islam. I don't think the Quran teaches them to do this. Bill Maher: Well, you're wrong about that. The Quran absolutely has horrible things about how infidels should be treated. And can we really say women are treated equally in the Muslim world? Their testimony in court is often counted as half.
