You play as a nameless hero, a convict thrown into a penal colony in the Valley of Mines, sealed by a magical barrier. The kingdom needs the colony's magical ore to fight orcs, so prisoners run the place after a rebellion. Three rival factions dominate: the powerful Old Camp, the brutal New Camp, and the fanatical Swamp Camp Through quests, combat, and alliances, you uncover ancient secrets, dark gods and other evil threatening the world. The game felt highly immersive with a great medieval fantasy vibe. For 2001 this was pretty epic.
