Shadow of Rome | PlayStation 2 - 2005

Funny how the sequel to this game was cancelled and then reengineered to be Dead Rising

This game was awesome, basically you play a gladiator who must survive again and again in the arena AND you play his pal in a more stealth/infiltration gameplay to find clues to innocent him (the Gladiator was framed for something he didn't do and sold as a slave if I remember)

If there is any Capcom game that instantly deserves a remake, this would be it. God, I swear there really are no more Gladiator-esque games like these anymore.

I owned this game as a kid but it would freeze and stop working during one of the midgame sneak missions. I spent countless quids on disc cleaning machines and disc repair places with no luck and I never saw it for sale either. Really wanna play it again

Another great game in Roman setting is Colosseum: Road to Freedom

Looks really cool, although that health bar looks insanely massive

I absolutely loved this game when I was a kid! Clocked many hours on it. The stealth parts with the other guy were fun too. I remember eventually buying a tiger for my home 😂

I did think the system for getting the crowd to cheer for you and throw you a weapon was cool.

I played this a boy and god was it something special to me at the time I hadn’t experienced combat like that and the mix of stealth sections I quite enjoy

Such an underrated game and I liked it a lot. This was the era they were doing whatever and I fw it. Chaos Region GodHand Final Fight Streetwise DMCs Viewtiful Joe This game… Even the following Gen with Lost Planet. Capcom used to be something for real and not just AAA titles

I think the most insane thing about Capcom is how much DNA is shared between their games. I can see Dragons Dogma, Dead Rising, Godhand, and Monster Hunter in this single clip.

This game was incredible till you have to play as second character ovtavianus hiding everywhere in the palace and seeking for information I was not even able to fathom as I was child and not understanding English at this time.

I loved this game- was one I tried to find/buy in steam way later but couldn’t find it- never saw any other place to play it

This is the prequel to Dead Rising. Due to low sales numbers and criticism on the stealth missions, Capcom dropped the stealth missions and swapped to a Mall/Zombie theme for the sequel.

Just realized Capcom took numerous assets from this for Dead Rising.

This game is a disappointment; it looks so good in screenshots—partly because they only show half the gameplay

HOLY SHIT! I've been trying to find this hame for years! I remember renting it for the ps2 when I was like 6.

Capcom need to make a sequel.

gameplay is a bit mid but its an interesting game

This game was lit. But here in Brasil, common to get bootleg games... So my PS2 always used to lock in and i had to restart the game, when the phase reached once again, lock in. Had to go back and reenjoy until that part never finishing it lol
