Bro this is simple physics… 5th graders know and understand this stuff LOL. A shadow absolutely 100000% can be smaller than the object that is casting it when the light source is closer to the object. My shadow is long in the morning, but by noon when the sun gets over my head, my shadow is only a foot long…. What the actual fuck are you talking about?!

@BillSEsquire_11 @No_Curve @Death6102 @phone_booth_pod Spot on Ted. That would mean if the Moon is 2159 miles in diameter, then the shadow cast during the solar eclipse should be no less than 2159 miles across. The object casting the shadow is not the Moon.
