Funny, I was born 20 years after this commercial aired and know the tagline because my mom would quote the "and I helped" line every time we made shake n' bake when I was a kid.

I still love Shake ‘n Bake pork chops. Served with apple sauce and au gratin potatoes.

Dear lord baby Jesus. Want to thank you for my two beautiful, beautifully strikingly handsome sons, walker and Texas ranger. Had to revisit that clip. 😂

Best memories 😀

Shake and Bake (1970s)

Was first introduced in 1965 by the folks of General foods.

Like the race car tandem of Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton?!

Her: Crispy but not greasy like fried chicken! (as it drips grease.)

"Shake 'n Bake" became popular in the 1970s as a product that allowed people to easily coat meat (typically chicken or pork) with seasoned breadcrumbs before baking it. The slogan "It’s Shake 'n Bake, and I helped!" became iconic, capturing the simplicity of preparing a meal with the help of kids or family members. It reflected the era’s shift toward convenience in cooking while still aiming for that home-cooked feel. It’s a nostalgic reminder of the advertising and food trends from that period.
