Quake 3 exclusively though. There is just something about Quake live I don't like as much. I think on top of them making combat feel a little floaty, they over santizied alot of the aesthetic.

100% the gritty arena gameplay was at its prime in Quake 3 / Live. Games like Duke 3D, Blood, and Shadow Warrior all had so much potential that didn't quite catch on post the TEN, Kali, Mplayer, DWANGO etc.. networks era
